Project Summary
Descriptions It is one of the most important and strategic investment projects for the government of Yemen. The Project is to construct Oil Terminal with receiving, storing and exporting facilities. The initial storage capacity will be 3 million barrels with possibility for future expansion upto 5 million barrels to replace the aging existing Floating Storage Offloading facilities (SAFER).
Project Location Project site is located at Ras Issa peninsula, Saleef Province, Governorate of Hudeidah on Yemen red sea coast at longitude E (42o 42' ) and latitude N (15o 11' ) 80 Kilometers from city of Hudeidah.(fig1)

To ensure the availability of crude oil export on the Red Sea for the existing situation and any possible future expansion in the oilfields. Providing sufficient storage capacity for crude oil which flows from productive blocks through the existing pipeline from Marib to Ras Issa. Ensuring the highest loading ability for VLCC and ULCC. Facilitating the operation and decreasing the costs of operation and maintenance. High safety codes. Assurance of quality control. Prevention negative environmental impact. Direct and indirect contribution to the socio-economical development.
Project Major Works
Preparing technical and economical studies, designs, drawings and supervision works. Crude oil Floating Roof Storage Tanks of total initial storage capacity of 3,000,000 bbl with possibility for future expansion upto 5,000,000 barrels. Pumping, piping and loading facilities Integrated system for control, measurements, and stock monitoring. Fire prevention and fighting system. Cathodic protection system. Laboratory. Drainage system for water and waste oil. Utilities such as electrical power, water, etc. Warehouse, workshops, services and administration buildings. Internal roads and parking. Tank dike wall. Fence and gates. Security and emergency system.
Project Duration
It is expected to complete all work activities within 31 months according to the issued timetable.
